Snape-Expelliarmus
So here is an Update on my last post about Dan Radcliffe and possibly Emma Watson appearing nude in Deathly Hallows.

David Yates has confirmed that there will be two nude scenes for Dan Rad: the horcrux scene in which he will be getting it on somehow with Hermione to make Ron jealous, as well as King's Cross (when Dan is supposed to be nude because he's in heaven/limbo/the afterlife/a dream/whatever.

Originally from Here in Spanish, translated on Snitchseeker.

"Well, Dan (Radcliffe) has appeared nude in the past, but there are a couple of scenes in the new film in which he will undress, but we're still thinking about how we present it.

"It's a fascinating scene in which Harry and Ron (Rupert Grint) are trying to kill a Horcrux (a magical creature). It tries to defend itself and creates an image of Voldemort's soul, that has a series of images where Harry and Hermione (Emma Watson) are kissing and embracing. And we will create something that feels very sexy and very intriguing to bring about a reaction in Rupert (who is in love with Hermione).

"There is another scene in Kings Cross station, where Harry almost dies and sees Dumbledore. In that scene he will also be naked," he added.

I wrote what I thought about this in my last post, but I wanted to share a comment from Snitchseeker with which I also agree:

I wish the whole being nude wasn't brought out in a dirty way in that scene where they fight the Horcrux, it was all about the depth of emotions there; Ron had been gone for weeks, having no idea what could have transpired between his friends and his jealously always being there of course, but I don't understand why nudity is taken in that form by Yates. Nudity shoudn't be used to show sexuality etc. in HP because it doesn't always mean that.

The real nude scene in the book where he dies wasn't a big deal because it made sense for him to be naked...nobody thought, ok so he's naked like OMG! It was like whatever for them because it wasn't dirty or nasty. Wish Yates would have been a little more thoughtful.

She's right because in DH, Harry's nudity is actually a sign of purity because he's supposedly been made perfect and doesn't need his glasses for instance. The fact he wishes for clothing may even be a sign that he's still alive and his soul connected to his body on earth. So obviously I think the folks at WB have missed something in the religious symbolism here. Harry wasn't dead but he could have chosen to go further on by catching the train in the station, according to Dumbledore.

And unfortunately, according to Yates they are also still thinking up extra scenes to film, and meanwhile no news about The Silver Doe or Prince's Tale.

"It's very difficult to find a favorite scene, but something we just did as part of the movie truly is priceless. It's a scene where Hermione and Harry dance together and is not in the book - it's something we created for the film and is actually very tender, very nice and respectful, and they also reveal some secrets about each other while dancing," said Yates.

Dancing? I guess this is during the wedding. Yeah, we really need more wedding, don't we?

(For some reason Snitchseeker jumps to the fact that it might be after Ron leaves the trio, but I doubt they would be dancing out in the woods).

Just once I wish one of these bozos at WB would say that their favorite scene was one with Alan Rickman playing his heart out as Snape. Just once before I die.

What Was WB Thinking? ~ New Snape Footage

I wish WB would 'splain why they left out one of the most dramatic shots of Alan Rickman ever filmed for one of these movies? It's unbelievable. Are they just made of teh stoopid or what? That's a hypothetical question - I know the answer very well.

One of my Anony-Mice from the previous post directed me to this headline in the Daily Beast: Muggles Ruin Harry Potter Dinner originally from The Guardian UK. It seems a restaurateur in London whose daughter is an "obsessive" fan wanted to host a fun Harry Potter themed dinner on Halloween.

She didn't count on the Zombie Lawyers coming out of the Crypt:

Well, here comes the next lawsuit by WB!

It's all about a movie from India's Bollywood called Hari Puttar ~ A Comedy of Terrors. The plot synopsis is HERE. It sounds something like Home Alone. The release date is coming soon, September 12, so I wonder if this will be settled by then? The name could be seen as a parody.

General News From Harry Potter Fandom

Bluestocking has more Lexicon Trial Analysis, this time of the allegedly "expert" witness of Jeri Johnson. I love the way she tries to define what a Lexicon is, yet has nothing but her own opinion!

The Testimony of Jeri Johnson

Excerpt: Johnson: “But what do I think? I think it is not a lexicon either. A lexicon would be a word list, yes, where the word is most frequently reserved for Greek or Latin dictionaries forhistorical reasons. But we would expect a lexicon to have the kinds of information systematically and uniformly given that this doesn't, like etymologies or like pronunciations. "Lexicon" is another word for dictionary.”

Bluestocking: You know Ms. Johnson you should really stop speaking in absolutes like you are the authority. I checked my copy of Webster’s Dictionary, lexicon is listed as an encyclopedia not a word list. Would it really have been that hard to check this out? Once again, some examples would be really nice. Just so you know, when experts testify they give their opinions to a reasonable certainty. See the problem with absolutes is that you run the risk of having your opponent start putting Lexicons that are more than merely word lists and start quizzing you on them. In addition, a really cheeky lawyer might read you the Webster’s dictionary definition.

If you haven't seen it yet, here is cover from Steve's new book from Methuen, hopefully coming out in October of this year. Good Luck with it, Steve!

Then the Warner Bros. saga continues with a new statement from Alan Horn about how much he loves the fans, and how WB postponed the HBP movie for our own good.
Rope of Silicon Blog: Warner Bros Puts Their Disrespect for HP Fans in Writing

Meanwhile, Dan Radcliffe said in an Interview not to blame him, as some bloggers have insinuated that his Equus perfomance in the fall is the reason for the delay. He says he was told about the movie change 24 hours before it hit the news.

Warner Brothers and the Edge of Reason

The good news is we have these beautiful new pictures from the HBP movie! The bad news is, five minutes before they released the pictures, Warner Bros. postponed the HBP movie for eight months!

And the reasons are fascinatingly predictable. Money, of course. Oh, and other lame excuses, such as the Writer's Strike - which is over now, right? And they want to reach a "wider audience," whatever that means! What about the audience they've got? They kept us sitting here bored half the summer, waiting for the teaser trailer, which had absolutely no pictures of the "Prince" himself. Then the very night they postpone it, they suddenly flood us with pics. They tossed us a bone to gnaw after taking away the roast beast.

I've been reading the websites tonight and there is some weird stuff being written! WB not only screwed over the fans, but also IMAX and Entertainment Weekly. And there is surely more to come. And there are Petitions and Wank Galore.

UPDATE: I just have to add this quote I found on HPANA from Alan Horn, WB President, because it just speaks volumes about the greed involved in this decision:

"The picture is completely, absolutely, 100 percent on schedule, on time. There were no delays," Horn told The Associated Press. "I've seen the movie. It is fabulous. We would have been perfectly able to have it out in November."

Great. That's just so good to know. Thanks.
