Pictures of Young Dumbledore played by Toby Regbo from Snitchseeker. There are pictures and scans of an interview by Jamie Campbell Bower HERE in the Snitchseeker Gallery.
What do you think? Does this look like Young Michael Gambon?

Transcript:
Q: Is it true that you've got a part in the next Harry Potter movie?
JCBowers: Yeah, Yeah - Deathly Hallows.
Q: What is your character?
JCBowers: I'm playing a character called Gellert Grindelwald, and um, he's sort of a young friend of Dumbledore's from way back when. And of course J. K. Rowling "outed" Dumbledore years ago so there's meant to be or possibly a thing between them. We don't know, and obviously it's not in the movie, but it's maybe there in the subtext. Who knows?
Q: You're doing, you're kind of into your ...
JCBowers: Dark
Q: No, with Potter and Twilight and - your sequels.
JCBowers: Yeah, I'm into my sequals. *laughs* Yeah, I'm into my franchises, one could say. I joked with someone last week that I"m a franchise whore and I truly believe that.

Some interesting "concept art" done for the HBP movie has been released (see links below). The picture of Dumbledore's funeral makes me wonder why they didn't just go ahead and film the scene. It clearly shows a parallel to the death of Aragog in the movie with Hagrid standing over the dead body and the mountains behind them. Maybe that image was just too creepy of a parallel for the director, but in the book it's certainly meaningful that Aragog's children won't accept Hagrid anymore, while the Order members won't accept Snape anymore after the death of Dumbledore.
I'm biased. I loved Dumbledore's funeral and except for Dobby and Moody's eyeball, it's all we have of a ritualistic view of death. Eh, and the graveyards in GoF and DH.

A restaurant in Malaysia called "McCurry" has won a nine-year legal battle against McDonald's. They've insisted that the "MC" stands for "malaysian chicken curry." Since I love curry much more than a Big Mac, I'm very happy for them. :)
This article from Canada.com is a hoot: a list of stupid questions from visitors to Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. Just a sampling ~ number 19 is my personal favorite:
From an unofficial survey of Banff tour operators, here are the top 20 outrageous questions, some with answers in case you've wondered the same thing. As for the rest, well, they stand on their own.And speaking of wildlife, an amazingly Pettigrew-esque Giant Rat that has been discovered in a volcanic crator of Papua, New Guinea. Which makes me wonder - after Peter got the silver hand, could he still transform? Or did he just become a rat with a silver paw?
1. Are the animals with collars tame? (These animals have been fitted with tagged collars because they have had incidents with people. It is important to stay a safe distance away from wildlife.)
2. We are going into British Columbia. Do we need to change our money into Euros?
3. Can we drive our car onto a glacier anywhere? (Not to our knowledge, but you might enjoy a trip on the Ice Explorer across the Columbia Icefields.)
4. Do we need snow tires or chains to drive to Lake Louise in July?
5. Where are the igloos and the Eskimos?

Deathly Hallows actor Jamie Bower Campbell talked about Gellert Grindelwald on Hollywood Crush.
I play Gellert Grindelwald, who is an old friend of Dumbledore's," explained the 21-year-old actor. "It's a flashback character, which is good fun. I did a little bit before I went off and did 'New Moon.'"
"No, I'm just doing number one," he answered when we asked if Grindelwald was scheduled to be in both halves of the split-for-the-cinema-sequels made from J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" novel. "Thus far, I mean. I haven't seen the script for the second one; I don't think anyone has seen the script for the second one."

On HPN, the Writer of the Month for August is our own Louisa, otherwise known here as
Found on Snitchseeker : This sounds very promising ~ Tom Felton did an interview with a Japanese magazine. There's no complete translation yet, although there is a rather garbled one on FeltBeatsbut here's a spoiler which I liked very much:
Tom Goes on to say that in films 7 and 8, we get the impression that Draco Malfoy wishes to help Harry and as such, they save each other's lives. He says we also see this in the final scene at the train station.

Hey all ~ So sorry to be here two hours late. We got home just after three A.M. and I was ready to get online and chat, but our cable connection wasn’t working because Comcast was doing maintenance just in the area of my small town, tonight of all nights! So I tried to make good use of the time and spent about an hour typing up my first impressions.
What can I say about the movie? I was blown away by it.
We had four tickets and my oldest son wasn’t originally planning to go with us. So I thought my husband was going and then I could tell you his perspective as someone not that familiar with the books. That will have to wait for another time because my son changed his mind, and my husband ended up staying home. We should have bought five tickets to begin with, but then we would have had to take two cars, so anyway ~ I went with my three kids.
We went to a huge movieplex called The Rave and you can see how big it is. We had to park a quarter of a mile away because the parking lot was spilling over. They had five large theaters showing the movie and the lobby was completely packed with people. My daughter and younger son went in to get seats, and my older son and I stood in line for about 20 minutes to get popcorn and cokes. After a few minutes my daughter texted us that the only seats left were way down front but by then I was just happy to have seats at all. For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, I would not recommend sitting so close because some of the action shots made me dizzy. However, it was great being up so close to Dumbledore and Snape!
We didn’t dress up in costumes, which is just as well because sadly there weren’t that many people there in costumes. However, there were enough to make it interesting. I saw one boy who had on a Gryffindor-colored bathrobe, but he was wearing a batman mask, so he looked like a strange Death Eater. Then I saw quite a few Slytherin types in black robes with green neckties or socks. Lots of kids were wearing pajamas. Since my son didn’t want me to dress up, my alternate plan was just to wear all black and white. I had a black and white shirt black pants, and my daughter wore all black.
Usually my kids are very critical of the movies, so I expected a lot of nitpicking in the car on the way home. But it didn’t happen! All three of them said it was the best movie of the series. My daughter just read HBP again and she said it was the first time that the movie left her as satisfied as the book, which is high praise indeed.
And here are my thoughts mingled with some of their perceptions:

Reviews are starting to pour in. I found most of these on Snitchseeker . These are just quotes, so I encourage everyone to read the entire reviews.
As we were discussing on HPN, it's obvious some of these reviewers have never read the books, and don't have a clue about Professor Snape.
"Potter Plotter is Hotter to Trotter"

At times like a High School rom-com. Hogwarts is Snogwarts as Ron lip locks with Lavender Brown, much to Hermione's annoyance.
~ The Sun
The death of Sirius Black in 2007's Order Of The Phoenix was an emotionless affair.
The demise of a beloved character here is told with heart and power. This is a full-blooded affair.
Rather than giving us a series of computer-generated action sequences (yawn again), Yates has gone for careful character development, building to a dramatic crescendo. And that is the biggest surprise of all - The Half-Blood Prince is masterful.

I've been trying to collect some of the promo commercials that have recently come out. There are so many I've lost count, but here are a few. I especially like the first one here because Dumbledore gives Harry the lecture about "Do whatever I ask you to do without question." They are setting up Harry's experience as a parallel with Snape's there - both of them Dumbledore's men.
The second has Hagrid and Slughorn, the third is a nice compilation by MrUltimateHarry on Youtube with the first four promos together. The fourth is a featurette with Dumbledore and Harry. The fifth is the newest but the German version is all I can find - so enjoy hearing "Sectumsempra" in German! :)

I guess we are stuck with the Cruella/Mommy Dearest hair ~ for comparisons see my Previous Post. I was hoping they'd change that. It looks like she painted her hair with black shoe polish.
Also, I think the music in this trailer sounds like Lord of the Rings.
What's with that?

This video was just released today! It's alot better than the lame video they showed during the Oscars. It has scenes with Dumbledore and the Inferi (nice Wizard Wrock name possibility), Draco and Harry during Sectumsempra, Hermione shooting birds at Ron (ha), and Slughorn's house all torn up during his fake death.

Some thought-provoking quotes from Beedle the Bard, not from the stories, but the Intro, commentary, and footnotes. (JKR writes that certain footnotes were written by her to explain things to Muggles, but some of them seem to come from Dumbledore, while others may have been written by Hermione ) Since these are spoilers, I'll put them under an LJ-cut.

If you have not yet voted in the Chamber of Secrets Minister Election,
the Final Vote Poll is up now!
So far the Snape/Molly team is in the lead with 49 votes so thanks to all those who have voted! The vote is open until November 7th.
At first I wasn't going to get so involved with this, but it has just been a joy to work together and meet alot of new Snape fans. We are all going to be sad when it's over!
Also, Sev and Molly are throwing a Halloween Party that will be ongoing until October 31st. No campaigning, just fun, chat, and relaxation. Please drop by, and Snape or Lucius might even dance with you if you can get Narcissa out of the way, haha.
We earned that thread by winning best charity idea in the last vote for A Jumper for Every Child. See our complete campaign thread Here.
I've been busy with all this so I just noticed that there is a new trailer out for Half-Blood Prince, and it's really interesting! I could do without Harry getting hit on the head once more, though - thankfully this time by Hermione instead of Snape!

WB is releasing a ton of pictures from the HBP movie.
This pic of Spinner's End is from a 2009 Calendar that also has some great pictures of Luna Lovegood, Lupin and Tonks, and of course the Trio. If anyone needs one of these super-large pictures resized, please let me know. I am also making more icons of them. You can see the Lupins Here and Luna Lovegood Here

So out of a zillion calendar pictures, we get one of Snape, who is actually the HBP, and lots of pics of everyone else, especially Ron. If they are going in that direction, they should just let Ron win the final battle in his Quidditch uniform, and give him the silver doe as a Patronus. Actually - forget the silver doe! Let Ron's dog Patronus lead Harry to the sword! In a post-Deathly Hallows world, considering all the things JKR has said, I'm surprised she didn't write it that way in the first place.
Snitchseeker has posted pictures from a sticker book. One of these shows several horcruxes (I guess WB doesn't have to worry about spoilers, unlike all the encyclopedia writers), and I am just baffled by the picture of the locket.
