In honor of Karl Malden who died this week (when will it end?) I'm honoring the Golden Age of Cop Shows, the 1970s. There was a detective show for every night of the week, and there was a different type of cop to appeal to everyone. All of these have great instrumental theme songs. They don't make shows like this anymore.

This episode of Streets of San Francisco has about 20 famous guest stars!

AAAAAHHHH!!! SEVENTIES HAIR!!! FLUFFY SEVENTIES HAIR!!!

Never thought I'd see a day when it looked weird and dated. ;-)

My strongest memory of "The Streets of San Francisco" was all those big 70s cars flying over the steep hills in chase scenes--and I mean literally flying. I got to visit SF for the first time in December 2007, visiting my son, and experienced first-hand just how steep those hills are. We were walking, having taken the BART into the city; I can't imagine trying to drive on those hills without constantly feeling as if the car is about to flip end over end. *urp*

The western side of SF, near the ocean, is a little easier on the legs, and on the vertigo.

I live in a mountainous area where some driveways go straight up (and down), but I always got vertigo watching Streets of San Fran and the movie Bullitt. There is just no way I would ever drive a car there.

Oh, and you can say "fluffy seventies hair" for everyone except Telly Savalas. *LOL*

I am old enough to remember having watched all of those shows. Egads!! I remember Karl Malden from Streetcar Named Desire, Cincinnati Kid etc. 97 is a ripe old age. Good for him!!

I saw on the news he was married to the same wife for 70 years, too! That's amazing for a Hollywood actor.

Me too! Our high school band used to play Hawaii 5-0 at all the football games - a real crowd-pleaser. :)

Book 'em, Dano!
